Nothing

The walls are bare,
Sterile, clinical
The rooms are empty
My voice echoes

No mementoes of "us"
The melded flesh, blood and bones we became.
You scrubbed us off with vigour
Like we were a thing of shame

I was here!
I loved you!
I gave you all I could,
Even what I didn't have to give.

I was here!
I lived in that heart,
We had a life,
We were synced.

I was here!
I can't be stripped off,
My essence remains,
No matter what you try.

I was here!
Here with you,
Beside and beneath you
The sheets testify

Why do your eyes shift?
avoiding mine without shame
Are you haunted by the memories
Stricken by your self deceit

I Was here
It was glorious
I will not be forgotten.
